Project Overview
A chatbot-powered integrated and dynamic polling system with a web-based admin portal to help drive engagement for one of the leading regional-language daily TV channels. The system was deeply integrated with the programming & content of the daily shows on the TV channel and used Whatsapp message-based polling for questions asked daily during the air time of the various shows. Viewers could message in the correct answer through Whatsapp to a phone number shared by the channel linked with this automated system. Winners who had answered the questions correctly were chosen automatically on a weekly basis and awarded prizes. This system enabled the channel to measure, engage and monetize the broad audience platform they had built like never before. This was the first time Whatsapp rather than traditional SMS was used for TV audience engagement purposes in Eastern India.

We’ll outline integration requirements with WhatsApp Business API, backend systems, and data analytics tools to ensure smooth automation and reporting. Finally, we’ll set measurable KPIs and timelines to guide the development, testing, and launch phases while ensuring scalability for future campaigns.

We will begin by designing an intuitive chatbot workflow to handle user interactions, registrations, and contest participation directly within WhatsApp. The system will integrate secure data handling, real-time response tracking, and automated result management. Additionally, we’ll develop an admin dashboard for campaign monitoring and analytics to optimize engagement and improve user retention throughout the contest lifecycle.

Traditional contest and engagement campaigns often face limitations in user reach, response time, and data management. Participants may find it inconvenient to register or interact through external websites or apps, leading to low engagement and drop-offs.
